A rolled-up mattress is recommended to be unpacked and used within 1-3 months; storing it unopened for more than 6 months may affect its performance.
●Core Reasons
The core materials of the mattress (sponge, latex, pocketed springs) will have a “memory effect” when compressed for a long time. Beyond 3 months, they may not fully rebound, leading to sagging or reduced support.
The vacuum-sealed environment during rolling impairs the material’s breathability. Long-term storage may cause mold growth, especially in humid conditions.
The packaging material (plastic film) can trap odors when wrapped for a long time, extending the time needed to air out the mattress after unpacking.
●Special Notes
Latex mattresses: Latex is prone to aging. Compression in a rolled-up state for more than 1 month may affect elasticity, so unpacking within 1 month is recommended.
Spring mattresses: Pocketed springs may deform if squeezed for a long time. Unpacking within 3 months can maximize the recovery of support.
Storage environment: It should be dry, ventilated, and away from direct sunlight. Humid or high-temperature environments will accelerate material damage, requiring shorter storage time.
